We all know them. Those people who want you to feel bad. Did you ever notice that no matter what you say or do, some people just look for the negative?
Lately, I've discovered that I can say and do the right things and certain people will just twist it around to make you wonder if you actually did or said what you thought you did. It happens all the time with these people.
Do they dwell on negativity? If you make a mistake will they hold it against you forever? A few weeks ago I mis-spoke...some fact or other was wrong. At least she TOLD me I mis-spoke. The fact that she had the printed information right in front of her, correctly written I might add, seemed to make no difference. She went on and on about it for so long that people, and not just me, were beginnning to become uncomfortable. Why does this happen?
Sometimes no matter what you do, some people just don't want to believe you or accept you the way you are. We all have flaws. None of us is perfect. Why do some people WANT you to feel badly about yourself? Does it mean THEY feel better when they kick you when you're down or try to humiliate you in public? I wish I knew.
All I know is that I come into contact with these people on a fairly regular basis and there's really nothing I can do to avoid them all the time. They hold a grudge. They do NOT follow the do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.
I have to wonder why not. Do YOU know people like this? Those people who want you to feel bad about yourself?
Or is it just me?
