I have one completely free day a month. This month, it's today.
Now, that doesn't mean that I don't have things to do, but I can pretty much set my own schedule.
My original plan was to make a tied blanket. I got the fleece a couple of weeks ago and decided that on my next "free" day, I'd make it. Last night at choir, my hands and fingers started to hurt so much it was painful to turn the pages of the music. I know it's arthritis and it doesn't happen every day, but when it starts, it doesn't go away quickly. I decided that two hours of tying knots wasn't a good thing to do today. Maybe Saturday...
I also had an errand to do. A young man in our church is moving into his first apartment soon and his foster parents are providing him with furniture so he needs nearly everything else. They're having a "shower" for him Sunday after church. I offered to get him bath towels and washcloths. It took me about 30 seconds to decide on Target instead of WalMart-I'm liking that place less and less. Anyhow, I went to Target, got what I needed and came home.
Now I'm making bran muffins. I'd like to read, but my eyes hurt and I feel like a migraine is coming on (my teeth hurt-that seems to be a clue)so I might just watch TV and do mindless things like laundry.
Tonight is Trick or Treat in our town. It's always on a Thursday night and is from 6-8. Our exchange student is going to a friend's home and THEY'RE going trick or treating in her neighborhood so my husband and I will be handing out candy to the little princesses and rock stars. I'm thankful that it's not raining. My kids went out in the rain a few times and it's no fun for anyone. It's not going to be warm tonight but it'll be dry. I have my candy and I'm ready to go!! Hopefully there won't be any leftover.
While I was at Target, I needed to buy vitamins. I have very dry eyes and thought maybe I could find some that addressed that issue. I started reading labels. I discovered something very interesting. Some vitamins have 25 calories and 1 gram of fat! Because I do the Weight Watchers program, I'm conscious about fat in everything. I'd like to know why vitamins have a gram of fat. The ones I bought seemed to have the same things in them but there was no fat or calories. I don't get it. I think I'll stick with my fat-less vitamins!
And now it's time to go get some hot chocolate. On a sunny, chilly day, that should hit the spot!!
