The Repairs Continue...continued

I think we're at stage 4 of the bathroom being done. Maybe stage 3 and a half. And maybe it's even up to five.

The challenge is that I don't know what stage "finished" will be. Three days ago my husband made one of his many trips to Lowe's. If I had to guess, I'd say it was trip #82 for this project, but he probably knows exactly how many times he's been there and exactly what time of the day or night he was there. I suspect that when he walks into the store, the employees rub their hands in glee. They probably know him by name now.

ANYHOW...he got the sink fixture installed, tightened everything, siliconed other stuff and turned on the water. He was smart though...he put a small bucket under the pipes and ran some water. Drip. Drip. Drip. After examining the work he'd done, he discovered that one of the tubes connecting the hot or cold water (I forget which) is defective. Tonight he has to take the entire thing apart again and go to Lowe's to replace it. He can't just return the bad tubing...the whole thing has to go back.

It IS looking pretty good though. And once the water is running, I think we'll be done with this phase of the makeover. The toilet and floor will still need done, and I still have to decide what I'm going to do to brighten things up, but as long as he's still crawling around under the sink, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm hoping that by Sunday afternoon I can ponder my choices and see what I can do with what I have here. The budget is pretty much gone so any work I do will have to be creative and mostly free!!

Then to think about our bedroom. It's next on the list and we need to buy paint. Other than the carpet, that's the only thing we have to buy for that room. Yeh, sure. How many trips to Lowe's will it take to do a room that needs a little patching and painting?

Only time will tell...
