From One Topic to Another!!

This morning I was looking for something warm to wear. There was rain in the forecast and the high was to be 70. Not a day for something light and breezy. I didn't have any luck. Then I realized that today was the day. Yes, today was to be the day I put away my summer clothes and got out some things to wear as we head towards winter.

I put it off as long as I could. I ironed all the stuff that needed ironing. I sorted through my pants and jeans and filled a trash bag with items good enough for someone else but too big for me. I'm glad I only bought one pair of new pants last winter as I lost weight because now even they don't fit very well. I did all of my paperwork. I ran out of things to do.

I moved all of the t shirts into storage bins and put my shorts away on one of the shelves where I keep my sweaters. (That'll be my next project...finding homes for the sweaters I haven't worn in two years or more.) Then I got out all of my long sleeved shirts and put them in my cupboard...I don't have a real dresser...I have three small drawers and a section where there are several shelves. I LIKE the shelves because I can see at a glance what's there. What's there now is winter clothes.

So now I'm depressed again. I'm cold and I know it'll be another six months before my feet get warm and I can enjoy being outside again. And I'm sure it was October when I did this last year. Why is it so cold already? Do I have to find my sweatpants and shirts next??

I still hate fall.

On another topic...awhile ago one of my cats decided to lay across my arms as I was typing. She and I disagreed on where she should go-I tried to push her over to lay next to me; she wanted to get behind me. She won. As she launched herself across my chest and arm to the back of the chair, she left four long claw marks on me. Well, four that I could put bandaids on. Two on my chest and two on my arm. I have other scratches too but they're not bleeding so I'm all patched up. And of course, within five minutes she was purring and acting like nothing happened. Apparently she doesn't smell blood!!

And yet another topic...Tessi found a homecoming dress the other night. We weren't even looking for one but we went into Penney's for something else and just decided to see what they had. She found a really pretty short dress on sale and we bought it. She needs shoes---too bad she doesn't wear my size 'cause I have some that would work. Anyhow, she got home, put the dress away and within an hour had a DATE for the dance! Funny how things work out! She's going to look SO cute!!

Homecoming dance-hair appointment-all this means fall is really here!
